Personal blog where I primarily post my Steam Powered Giraffe fanfics.

An Open Letter to the Steam Powered Giraffe Fandom.

Some of you may know me, but most of you have never heard of me. I’m usually pretty quiet in the fandom. I don’t post in the tags a lot except for the occasional fan fic or fan art. For months I’ve been distancing myself from the fandom because of all of the drama.

I’m sure that all of you have heard by now that Bunny deleted her account. Some of you are sad about this, and others are celebrating.

I’m personally happy about this for one reason. She’s getting away from all the toxicity.

This fandom used to be all about spreading the love, cool art, and good music. Now it’s becoming a cesspool of hate and drama,

At what point did it become okay to send hate to people? Some of you reading this have personally sent it, but I have to wonder if you think it’s okay because you checked a box that made it anonymous.

When did the message turn from Programmed to Love All and Life’s Too Short so Spread the Love, to an all out war of fan against fan?

Everyone has different opinions, and no one’s going to be happy all the time, but sending hateful messages, tagging mean spirited things, and outright driving people out of the fandom (This has happened, to a friend of mine no less), when is all of this going to stop? Where does the line get drawn at?

People still rant and cry and moan about Jon Sprague’s departure, it’s sad he left, but is really the way to keep the memory of him alive? By bitching and moaning and whining about something that will never happen? I understand the initial outcry, but it’s been more than a year and a half, can’t we just let go?

I understand that Michael and Matt leaving reopens some wounds, but do you really think that this is what any of them would want? If you showed them the hate you’re spreading because they left do you think they would be proud of you and happy?

Bunny, David, Michael, Matt, Sam, Steve, Jon, they all have something in common with you, the person reading this letter. They’re only human. The only reason people look at them any differently is because they’re raised on pedestals while held under microscopes and magnifying glasses as people look for every flaw and make it into something massive. This goes for both sides. The haters who turn it into a fuel for anger and drama, and those who treat them like unflawed gods. They may play robots on stage, but that doesn’t make them any less human.

Can any of you honestly say you aren’t guilty about saying something mean about anyone in the fandom, celebrity or not, in or out of tags?

I didn’t think so. We are all guilty in one way or another, but we can fix that.

A while back, I sent out hundreds of nice anons to people I followed and I didn’t follow alike, all of them a part of this fandom.

The responses were phenomenal. I learned so much about people when I did that, and I can’t count how many people said thank you, because they needed some kind words to get them through their day.

I’m not saying that everyone needs to do that, or that the drama can be completely stopped, but two years ago this fandom was a fanmily, and it was nearly drama free. Without a word when someone stirred up drama, we would all just block them without replying.

What happened to that community? Maybe there was hate and drama, but it wasn’t all over the tag 24/7 and more argumentative than tabloids. Why can’t we go back to that?

If you want to send me hate over this fine. Here’s my ask. Send me hate. I don’t care. I even left anon on for you. You want to have a mature conversation about this message me off anon and I will respond privately. If you want even more places to send hate, I have two other accounts and their asks are here and here.

All in all, this fandom needs to grow up as a whole. Tumblr already has enough drama, quit stirring the pot.

Hello! I’m not dead. I promise. Just been distracted by my rp blog for a while. I’m going to re read the first two chapters of LaOC and see if I can’t get you all another chapter. Most of it was already written but I lost that composition book. I’ll probably find it after I rewrite it.

Life and Other Consequences Chapter 2

//I’ve owed you guys this post for a few days. Sorry!

Chapter 2

The Spine was upset over Brianna leaving, arguably more so than when Holly left, but he refuses to let himself spiral into the same depression as before. Rabbit was sympathetic to start, but after three days, he was beginning to grow more and more annoyed by The Spine. Rather than being passive and secluded, Spine had taken to watching over his older brother’s shoulder, ensuring he does nothing to get himself, or anyone else, into trouble, but of course, Rabbit viewed this as The Spine being a buzzkill.

Petition Disney to make Sally from “A Nightmare Before Christmas” a princess

emilierosebecile:

platypussurprise:

Please pass this on and signal boost it.  Disney needs more non-traditional role models for little girls.  Sally is perfect.  She has flaws, but she is still smart, strong, and beautiful.

Spread this and signal boost like wildfire.

How did I spend Halloween? Well that’s me on the right. Now here’s what’s special about this? Well in case you don’t recognize him that’s a Norman Bates impersonator. Now for the amazing part. That’s the actual Psycho House. That is seriously where they shot Psycho (You could see the Bates Motel from there!) and Alfred Hitchcock stood on those steps. Your argument is irrelevant.

This is me. It is also the reason I will be smiling til next Halloween.
